Wrapping Up Unit 12: Transformations

This week, students will learn about the composition of transformations.  This means, how we can combine the rules of translation, rotation, and reflection and write a single rule to express the combination.  We will review during class on Tuesday and complete our unit 12 summative on Wednesday.  We will end the week during Friday's shortened class by creating a tessellation art project.

Our last Math MAP Test & Unit 12: Transformations

We will start off the week by wrapping up our final Math MAP test.  Once this is complete, we will move on to unit 12.   In this unit, we will take a look at transformations.  We will learn about rigid transformations (translation, rotation, and reflection) and non-rigid transformations (dilations).  During this unit, we will learn about how to apply transformations to figures that have been graphed on a coordinate plane.  At the end of the unit, we will apply our knowledge in order to create art!  Students will create their own tessellation piece in order to create a fun geometric pattern.
