Unit 2: Reasoning and Proof
This week, we will begin our second unit of the year on reasoning an proof. We will start off the
week discussing conditional statements. Students will practice writing several statements including the converse, inverse, and contrapositive. Understanding these statements will help students decode future theorems and definitions of geometric properties. Additionally this week, students will learn the basics of creating a formal argument and will be introduced to a two-column proof and indirect proof. Students should expect to see a couple of formative assessments throughout the week so we can check our level of understanding.
